The fix:

Fixed several problems with coloring when using dark backgrounds.

is ambigous to me. When I use coloring and a dark background I still have the problem that the HCB window is basically unreadable. Was this one of the problems that was fixed and I'm missing something? Almost need a way to set the background color on the HCB.

If using a dark background, you should still apply syntax coloring only to Source Windows. If you do this and still have a problem, send or post a small screen shot of the problem.

The fixes in 1218 apply to users who set background color of ALL windows using Display Properties, not to users who set only background color of text in the IDE.

If only your text has a dark background and you enable syntax coloring in objects which have a light background, VA X should use blank instead of selected color(s) to avoid a washed-out appearance.
