OK, on my VC6 install I can't get rid of the VA View. It's showing as a tab in the Workspace window, and I can't drag it out of there (or drag any of the other tabs, either). Clicking the 'x' on that window closes the entire workspace view including the other tabs. I don't have a Visual Assist X menu like I do in VS.NET, so I can't find any way to disable this thing. |

There is currently no way to eliminate the VA View in VC++ 6.0. It is possible only in VS.NET. The limitation is driven by the interfaces the IDEs offer us.
Thank you for your understanding. |

I really don't like that tab being there, especially since there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how it works. Maybe you guys should consider offering two builds of the VC6 addin, one with and one without VA View. |

at the very least it would be nice to have some idea of what VA View is supposed to do. i have it turn on, and set to auto-hide. i look at it now and then, but i am not sure what it is supposed to do *shrug* |

Build 1220 includes an option for VC++ 6.0 users to disable the VA View. |

We should mention there is an option in the HCB to prevent the HCB from changing out of "hovering mode." Enable the option only to make the HCB display the current scope when typing.
Right+Click in the HCB for access to the option.
Future builds of VA X will not change out of "hovering mode" by default, at least in new installations.
This change should get rid of the annoying, frequent updating of the HCB. |
