When I attempt to record a macro in VS.NET 2003 with visual assist x enabled (build 1219), the recording is _extremely_ slow. So slow, in fact, that it is nearly impossible to record even a few keystrokes.

If not obvious, use "Enable/disable" in the VAssistX menu to disable VA X before recording a macro. |

Um... huh?
It sure wasn't obvious to me. Hey, maybe this is why the Quick Macro function of .NET 2002 never worked for me; it never occurred to me that VAX might be the culprit. (I'm off to test that theory...)
Are you saying that this a permanent restriction? Or is this a bug?

Right, so if I disable VAX, I can record the a macro without any slowdown.
Interestingly, with VAX enabled, in addition to the slowdowns, I get fewer buttons in the record macro toolbar (notably, the pause button is missing).
I guess I can always disable VAX before recording a macro, but, jeez, that's kinda lame, no?

That's funny: when I do a Ctrl-Shift-R, the Pause button is missing for almost a full second - then it pops up. I guess it's not ever popping up for you...quote: but, jeez, that's kinda lame, no?
"The amazing thing about a dancing bear is not how well he dances, but that he dances at all." After 10 years of writing code for Windows, I can only shudder at what it must be like to work with in innards of the IDE. But you're right, it does look bad... you get my vote.

We will see if we can intercept an attempt to record a macro and either disable VA X automatically or display a message. Makes sense. |
