I thought this was fixed some releases ago but now its back again:
Just installed a fresh Windows + VS.NET2003 + VAX. Started VS.NET for the first time with VAX, loaded a C++ solution and found that VAX's context combo box and VS.NET's types combo box are visible on top of my source windows. I would have expected only VAX's combo boxes in a C++ project as they replace/enhance their functionality.
I assigned a shortcut-key to enable/disable and to display the options dialog. By disabling/enabling and afterwards displaying the options dialog I can make the VS.NET combo boxes disappear. If I now disable VAX with me shortcut key VAX's combo boxes are removed but VS.NET's are not added again - until I press the short cut key for the options dialog! Attention: VAX is disabled so the otions dialog is not displayed but VS.NET's types combo box is reappearing.
If I enable/disable VAX from the VAssistX menu the combo boxes of Vs.NET and VAX are toggled correctly.
Initial install of VA X does not remove the Navigation Bar of VS.NET. One needs to disable the Navigation Bar, if desired, using Tools|Options|Text Editor|C/C++|General.
Disable the Navigation Bar and restart your IDE so the settings are written to registry. Disable and enable of VA X makes the Navigation Bar appear and disappear. VA X assumes you want one or the other.
Behavior when you disable and enable VA X when both bars are present is a bit erratic.
