In Visual Studio.net 2003, when installed VAX, VAX disabled Navigation Bar, however, the properties box becomes empty, too.

you can turn the VS navigation bar back on again if you want. by default VAX gives you its improved navigation bar instead.

in VAX options -> text editor -> general -> view context and definition fields

in VS tools -> options -> text editor -> C/C++ -> navigation bar

hopefully switching back to the navigation bar will fix the properties box.
