When altering characters within a word, a suggestion list box appears.
i.e if i want to change MAX1_REELS to MAX2_REELS, as i change the 1 to a 2, a suggestion list box appears.
This becomes really annoying when trying to change many values in a table, quickly. I change a letter, press the down arrow key to move to the next line, but a list box has appeared - even though the letter or symbol may be in the middle of a word - i then have to press ESC to get out of the list box, which becomes time consuming and tedious after a while. I've probably done something daft in the options, but any help would be appreciated! |

this is how VAX is supposed to work, since this is normally what you want.

at the bottom of the page, section "Suggestions Within Symbols"
as a work around, i would either disable VAX (which seems extreme) or turn off suggestions in options -> text editor
you will probably want to turn this back on again when you have finished doing this.
the other way around this might be a search and replace across the table, but this only works if you are doing straight forward global replacements. |

Oh - its just that i don't remember having to do this with previous versions of VA . . . i'll just have to re-train my fingers!!

| There was a change recently to put suggestions in the middle of words. Actually, it was restoring an old change. If I've got my chronology right, VA6 and VA.NET always used to do this, but VA X didn't until recently. |
