I think VA killed my Tools menu. It has happened twice now, and I have never seen it before I installed 1272.
I'm forced to reset my menus to get it back (reinstall va and let it reset menus)

Assuming you are using VS.Net, which version? Do you have any other addins or packages installed?

Wasn't there a problem with installed VSIP and VAX back in summer?
Erik, could you search this forum for "VSIP" and have a short look if the problems/bugs popping out of the search are equal to your problem? |

When the Tools menu is killed, does it happen in your EXP environment, non-EXP or both? |

I have only used the non-EXP (I assume you are talking about VSIP environment?). The menu hasn't dissappeared in a while now, and I'm on 1274. |

The previous problems we had with the Tools menu were install time problems. It sounds like you're saying that the Tools menu disappeared while you were working in the IDE? |

Yes, suddenly it was gone while I was working, I think I had two instances of visual studio running both times (it only dissapeared in one), but I'm not sure. When I shut down and restarted the IDE it was still gone. I shutdown the IDE with the missing tools menu first and the working one after. |

Well that's odd. Menus are configured at install time, not at runtime. Let us know if it happens again. |

VS.NET is very badly behaved when you are running several instances at once, particularly if they are all running the same configuration of the same project. Several times it has reset my window arrangement back to the defaults, though this affects all running copies simultaneously. Perhaps this is another version of the same bug?
