Has anyone else found VAX build 1284 much flakier when used with files that have SHIFT-JIS text in them? The drop down methods list hardly ever seems to be filled up properly, and for large areas of the file the definition bar simply shows the file name.

I've always got the impression (no real scientific basis, though :) VAX has a few problems with Japanese -- Alt+G has always seemed much more reliable in English ASCII files -- but it never used to be this bad. I'm not sure when this arose, either, as I've not had to edit files with Japanese text in them much over the past couple of months.

Presumably the other people are also using these languages in their multi byte encodings? Is Visual Assist set up to handle that kind of thing?

Part of VA X can handle multi-byte. Part, i.e. some new code, cannot.

We think this is fixed in build 1288, mind giving it a try?

I'll install this as soon as I have a spare moment (I haven't had many of those in the past week). The project -- thought finished -- is returning to haunt us, so I still have the need. Thanks.
