i recall a rumour that the shorthand and acronyms were going to be applied to both OFIW and FSIW. this would have the advantage of being easier and faster than regular expressions.
i will ask, and see if i can find out what happened about that idea.
i am quite a fan of regular expressions myself, but nearly every program that supports them does it slightly differently, so you keep having to look up the subtleties, which can be a pain.
Several people have asked for regex support in the FOIW and FSIW dialogs. We'd like the feature ourselves. We just haven't done it, though feline is right in assuming we might implement acronyms and shorthand instead.
