howdy. I know you don't want VA to have too many options, but I'd really like to be able to set the background colours for syntax highlighting. I know people think I'm loopy when they see it
also VC does weird things with comments and background colours
putting a space after is the only way it works. Is there anyway you guys can fix it for them? :)
plus since I use a dark background the tooltips and popups highlighting have to be turned off. It'd be nice to set the background colour the same as I've set it (or have a choice in VA)
I won't ask for different fonts and sizes for each type
EDIT: woops should have gone in requests |

I can help you with one thing, as I also use a black background (as all right-thinking programmers do). What I do is this.
In the VAX Options dialog, "Fonts and Colors" page, only "Source Windows" is checked - the other five 'Apply Coloring to' checkboxes are unchecked.
Then in the Windows system-wide appearance dialog, I set the Tooltip background color to RGB(64,64,64), and the foreground color to white. Why not just set the background color to black? I can't remember, but there must have been a good reason. Maybe to make it stand out a little from my black IDE background?
Hope this helps.

people have asked about setting the background colour under different circumstances before. support have commented that it is far harder than it looks. remember that the IDE does not know VAX is here, getting in the way still i will ask and perhaps something can be done about this one of these days. just don't hold out for an instant fix, since this one is probably very hard.

as for right thinking programmers, i do agree that a white background is a horrible idea for programming or any text editing, i just don't use quite such a dark background colour |
