A loooooooong time ago y'all had a great feature, "Rename in Scope" for C++. This was an absolutely wonderful thing. With the resurgence in interest in refactoring and with the lack of innate support in VS2005, it seems like this (and other refactoring opportunities) would be great for you. I'm aware of a couple of other attempted implementations (e.g., Ref++), but they simply don't work on our codebase and they don't have your solidity.

Any hope that you'll bring back 'Rename in Scope' and, perhaps, even a few more refactoring approaches?

support have said that they are looking into extending the refactoring support in VS2005, but wont be trying to add refactoring support on their own to VAX.

i am not sure what form this will take, so for now it is probably best to wait and see what they are planning.

I would think refactoring is such a big job to do properly that it should be a separate plugin.

Stephen what you say makes sense, but i am not sure quite what WT is thinking of doing about refactoring. presumably they think the task is manageable.
