I got a performance problem with Visual Assist X. It happen that my visual studio freeze for a couple of seconds. Also, visual studio lag when scrolling in the source code window.

I have disabled everything that I could in the visual assist option dialog and I still have the problem. If I disable visual assist, everything is working fine, no more freeze or slow down.

I am not the only one who got this problem here at work. Any suggestion?

Thanks!

Can you try exiting your IDE and deleting the NCB files associated with your projects?

I tried this and it seems to help. My ncb file was like 18 megs and the new one is like 4 megs. But after opening a couple of file it grows to 6 megs.

So did the solution is to manage manually the deletion of the ncb file when visual studio starts to lag?

one option is to delete the ncb file and to then create an empty file with the same name and mark it as read only.

the IDE will ask you about this each time it loads, but that seems to be the only problem.

Feline's suggestion is what many of our users do.

But not because of VAX, but because the IDE usually f%&$s off the NCB by itself.
Just wanted to remind that...
