I just install va1297, but the dialog show the TipOfTheDay is a white box, it display nothing at all.

i have just installed 1297 on .NET 2003 running on a winXP pro SP2 machine and the tip of the day dialog shows fine for me.
i have firefox 1.0 installed and running, so that does not seem to be causing the problem, at least not for me. |

I use vc6 enterprise english version, and run on a simplified Chinese windows 2000 + sp4.
dose va call IE to display the tips?
It seems like the dialog when install Visual Studio .Net. |

if you look in the subdirectory where you have installed VAX there should be a subdirectory called "TipOfTheDay"
on my machine there are 26 html files here and 2 subdirectories. if i open one of the html files in IE then i see the tip of the day, and the hyperlink remembers that i have already visited this web page. i see the same effect when viewing the tip of the day via VAX in the IDE so i suspect that IE is indeed used to show the tip, but i don't know for certain.
do you have these files on your machine in the expected location? can you view the tip of the day OK if you load one of the files in IE?
i have a test win2k SP4 machine which is English windows sort of set to simplified Chinese. i never got this to quite work when trying to reproduce another bug. the tip of the day shows fine on this machine, but this may not prove anything. |

After i reinstall win2k & vc & va, i can see the tips now.
