when you open a msi setup project, you can't delete a source file from the file system view if you don't disable VAX.

using .NET 2003 when i create a new project there are 5 options under "Setup and Deployment Projects"

* Setup Project
* Wet Setup Project
* Merge Module Project
* Setup Wizard
* Cab Project

is one of these an msi setup project? if so which one? if not, do you know what i have to have installed in order to create one?

once i know what to look for i will try and create this.

Setup Project and Setup Wizard and Cab Project have the same problem.
You can add some exist file to the peoject.
Don't delete them from the Source View, it tests well.
Open the File System View, the added files can't be deleted.

i see the same effect here.

are all of these project types msi setup projects? or is this some other setup type that i am not seeing listed on my machine?

the work around is to disable VAX while editing a setup project.
