I have an application which execs a subprocess that I need to debug. After the subprocess starts I do a Debug->Processes... to attempt to attach to the process, but the process window never appears. At that point the development environment will no longer accept any mouse clicks and doesn't show up in the Alt-tab window. The only thing I can do when this happens is to kill Dev. Stdio and start over.

The reason I'm posting here is because, out of 6 developers, I'm the only one using Visual Assist and I'm the only one having this problem.

Has anyone else ever seen this or had a similar issue?

The obvious question is, does it do it with VAX disabled?

Seems to work just fine with it disabled.

We notice you have build 1287. While we do not think there is a fix in 1293, since we don't yet understand the problem well enough, do you mind installing build 1297? The newer build will make it easier for us to debug your problem.

Build 1298 was there, so I went ahead and installed it.

I'll send you another log when the hang occurs again.

Ok, just sent you another log.

This one hung the first time I attached to a process, so it's a small log file. Hope that helps.

Any update on this? I had to remove your software for now until this is fixed.

We went back and looked at both his logs you sent and it is appears to be working fine and then the log just ends, no timeout, warning or errors, we have no clue what is causing the hang. Any chance you could break in and get a callstack to see where it is hanging. Does it hang attaching to other process or just this one? Any more clues?
