Weird thing, while having 2 instances of VS2003 running, refactoring some code thus creating many new projects in one of the instances, this instance started to behave sluggish, getting totally unresponsive after some time.
Looking at it through ProcessExplorer, it showed that it kept creating new threads (more than 8000 already at the time I looked) although it did not consume any processor time worth to mention.
Not sure though if its VS or VAX, could not repro it so far. As I am still not done yet refactoring it might occur again. I'll try a memory dump next time.

One thing that I noticed although, VAX stopped showing any useful context information in its Context bars some time before that happened. When I closed the other instance of VS, it took ages "waiting for other instance of VAX to flush DB".

Very weird.

Keep us posted.

One question: Were you refactoring manually or with a tool?

Manually. Its more like re-organizing existing code, breaking away dependencies (both code and OS), and reworking some designs.
