1. Added a VS2003 project to the solution 2. Chose in-place conversion, didn't see the log 3. Tried FSIW Got this:
Then the FSIW dialog appeared without content (the list was empty).
Tried again, same.
Saved solution, exited VS, reloaded solution, it is now ok. |

i am guessing that you are using VS 2005 beta 2 here. on the theory you are i opened a C# solution in VS 2005 beta 2 with VA 1422 installed
i then added an existing C++ projected created in VS 2003 to this solution, saying "no backup" when asked. imidiately after the conversion i got the conversion report come up. i pressed ALT-SHIFT-S to open FSIW, and it worked perfectly.
how close is this to what you did? |

Yes, it is, VS2005b2, network access, C++ projects. I unchecked the box not to see the log. Couldn't reproduce with both local and networked solution. It must have been an unlucky constellation somehow. |

I saw the beast again, with the same configuration. FSIW uses to appear some seconds after pressing ALT+SHIFT+S, but this msg box pops up immediately. Got empty list after ok, it did the same from that on, had to restart IDE to make FSIW work again.
Next time I'll try not to forget examining the call stack. |

This was indeed a very large solution (8000+ files), but I don't remember whether I had added/converted something (probably not). No other add-ins installed. In the meantime I switched back to 1418 to have better speed/goto/coloring. If this strange window appears in 1423 either, I'll report the call stack and every suspicious circumstance. |
