Hello, I have a question regarding the new VS 2005 product line. I've read the lowest two editions, i.e. Express and Standard have limited extension abilities. Is this going to affect VA? Does anyone know if VA is going to work with VS 2005 Express / Standard editions? Thank you.

i believe that express is not supported, but standard and above should work. if in doubt i would suggest trying the trial version if you are not already a registered user.

Feline is correct.

VA X does not support Express editions.

Is this a restriction of VA or MS?

Great, thanks for the information.

feline: Unfortunately I can't test it, because I don't have VS yet. I'm now deciding which edition to buy, and VA compatibility is one of the criteria :)

Express editions have an API which only lets an add-in place something the in the menu. VA X needs a lot more than that.
