Closing windows in Visual Studio may be extremely slow. Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable Visual Assist
2. Open a dozen of c++ files
3. Call Window\Windows..., select all and click Close Window(s)
4. Observe that closing takes up to a minute
5. Disable Visual Assist
6. Repeat steps 2-4. Closing is now instantaneous.

Thank you for the clear description, I am seeing the same problem here:

case=165850

As a work around, can you try using:

IDE Windows menu -> Close All Tabs

instead? This is instant for me, so should show the same speed for you to.
