since build 1239, tooltips are enabled (and visibles) even if VC doesn't have focus.
Open a cpp file with VC7 . Open explorer and move it over VC7 Move the mouse over the folder view of explorer and a tooltip appear with the text 'Goto implementation'

I'm seeing something similar in VC6, though it was happening before 1239. |

I am also experiencing the following: while debugging the type info tooltip of VAX always hides the debuggers tooltip with the varables content. Went back to build 1233 where this only happens infrequently. |

Thanks for the info but he problem I reported earlier still exists in build 1240. It is probably somewhat better, since the type information tooltip goes away after about 2-3 seconds. Reverting back to build 1233. |

This problem with overlapping tooltips is really annoying - even with the timeout. Another way to get rid of them is to mark some text in the editor. Then the VA tooltips are not shown. Furthermore, I would prefer a customisable timeout or no timeout at all, if the overlapping problem is fixed. The current timeout is much too short for checking complex tooltips.
It would be great, if you could fix this!
I'm using VC6 SP6 and VAX 1240. |

For me the problem I have already described above has worsened with build 1246 and VC6. The type info tooltip of VAX is now always hiding the debuggers tooltip with the variable's content. This is happening if I just hover over the variable I want to inspect. Went back to build 1233. |

Same for me. VAX tooltips are still overlapping with the debugger tooltips. |

Same here with VC 6.0
I think VS .NET doesn't have these Problems anymore! I'll check tonight! |

i am unable to reproduce this in VS .NET 2003 with VAX 1246, so it looks like it might be VC 6 only. |

Confirmed, only seems to be a VC 6.0 Bug! |

Does this mean, it will not be fixed? It is still the same behaviour for 1272. I have disabled VaX Tooltips now but it would be much better if they just wouldn't overlap in debugging mode. |
