Hi. I was hoping to get support regarding a problem we are seeing with VA 10.6.1845.0 on a Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 remote desktop machine running Visual Studio 2005. Even though the "Optimize screen updates during Remote Desktop sessions" is set (confirmed in registry too) in the VAssistX options menu, when the session locks (equivalent to doing Ctrl+Alt+Del) due to inactivity, unlocking the screen to continue working in VS2005 triggers the screen to start flickering in 50-60% percent of the time and we loose control of Visual Studio and any other applications open in the remote desktop. It seems to be worst if the screen in the remote desktop has been locked more time rather than less time.
Is someone familiar with this specific issue? Are there any updates to the latest VA release (1849) that you think could help?
Thanks to everyone in advance. -holger |

As far as I know, turning on "Optimize screen updates during Remote Desktop sessions" is to reduce flicker. However, it can cause problems in rare cases. So turning this option off may solve the problem of "loose control of Visual Studio" that you had mentioned. If it helps, you can get rid of the flicker by turning off the following options:
Advanced -> Fonts and Colors -> Enhance Syntax Coloring Advanced -> Underlines -> Underline spelling errors in comments and string using Advanced -> Underlines -> Underline mistyped symbols using Advanced -> Display -> Highlight matching {} and () using Advanced -> Display -> Highlight mismatching {} and () using Advanced -> Display -> Display indicator after column
Hope this helps. |
