I created a VA snippet for inserting a comment above a code change and in it I have $Comment=ChangeMe$. This gives a dialog where I can type in my comment but I have 2 questions:
1. How can I make the input field multi-line?
2. Is there a way to modify the snippet so that it will not extend the text passed a certain number of characters on the line? I don't want to have to reformat my comments after I insert them.

A multi line edit control in a VA Snippet is an interesting idea. Out of interest, why do you want to type such a long comment here, rather than into the editor directly? If you type the comment into the editor you can use VA spell checking feature, and also trigger listboxes as and when required.

We are considering adding a feature to word wrap comments, but currently VA does not do this:

For now, if you turn on the Column Indicator this will help you know when your comments have reached, or passed, a given column:

And you can also set VA to auto extend multi line comments:
