Annoying as hell.

I am running an english winxp, all software on it is in english.
BUT i am stuck with a german keyboard for now.

Sometimes (every few hours or so) VAX apparently changes the keyboards layout for my keyboard to english. Which is annoying, as i kinda got used to the german layout.

I have to change it back manually using the "language bar" in the taskbar.

Now this ONLY EVER happens, when i I mis-hit a keyboard shortcut that involves several keys WHILE a VAX popup of somesort is open. I think.

I admit that i cannot reliably reproduce it at will, nor have i any evidence that it's VAXs fault. But when i disable VAX, it doesnt happen at all.

Maybe you can make more of it.

p.s. sorry i was little rude a few posts back, but the problem in question will cause me a lot of trouble.

Can you please right click on the language bar and select "Settings..."

Now press the "Key Settings..." button.

Are you seeing any mapped keyboard shortcuts for changing the current language? I am guessing one or more keyboard shortcuts are mapped in this dialog.

VA maps a different set of default keyboard shortcuts to the IDE, to avoid clashing with the IDE, but this means the shortcuts can overlap with the default shortcuts for swapping your keyboard language. If so, then using VA normally can trigger the keyboard language to change. This has happened to me now and then over the years, so I know just how disruptive it can be.

I have never seen VA its self trigger a change of keyboard language, so hopefully this is the problem.

i'll let you know whether this solved it!

I have seen this before, the default keyboard mapping overlaps with keyboard shortcuts that you can easily hit when working with VA. Hopefully removing or changing the keyboard shortcut will fix the problem for you.
