I've noticed this for a while now, it's been a minor irritation since I started using VA X. I just got a new license to see if it was fixed in a recent build but unfortunately it seems not.
When you make a change to a file or otherwise trigger a VA reparse (you can see it briefly in the status bar), the VA Outline window will scroll somewhere else - not necessarily to the start, it seems to keep the current function in view, but the scroll still moves. Obviously it would be hard to keep the scroll identical if the contents of the outline were changing, but this happens even if the change is within a function, and the outline doesn't change.
Sometimes it will happen immediately, sometimes only when you click somewhere (maybe when a repaint of the outline window is triggered, I'm not sure). This can be really annoying if you're going down a list of functions via VA outline to make a similar change, and every time you need to re-scroll to where you were in the outline view.
I've tried disabling the only other extension I have (VsVim) but it still happens, I've tested VS2010 SP1 Pro and VS2013 Community, same behaviour.
Let me know if you need other details to reproduce, it's pretty reliable for me but perhaps there's some assumption I'm making or something specific to my setup. |

I am seeing the same effect here. Thank you for the clear description.

If you are working down the file, one function at a time, since you are working on several functions close together, then moving through the file one function at a time might help here:

I do this all the time with Alt+Down-Arrow and Alt+Up-Arrow myself. |
