Build 1214. My VS.NET 2003 crashed. Ater I opened a specific file VA asked if it should recover an unsaved file, it was a header file. I sayed yes. VA recovered a file but it was the corresponding .cpp file. Martin |

I've seen a different version of this bug, where a different file entirely is restored. The project I'm working on has quite a large number of files, if that makes any difference.
Given that the times I've needed to restore files have been after VA has crashed, it is pretty annoying to have it mess these up and lose my work.

This is third time i post about this... Simple solution:
Before 'recovering', copy existing FILE.H into FILE.H.BAK
Anybody can tell me what is wrong with this idea? |

I didn't see it go wrong lately. Which is not surprizing, because this happens very rarely to begin with, and i don't trust this feature regardless of WT's claims, so i hit "No" most of the time. Two times i accepted it did work. Just because the price i would pay is too great... I lost weeks work once, and i don't want it to happen again... That's why i sort of insist on having backup mechanism - making .BAK file is easy, and it saves you from loosing the code 100%. |

Friend of mine got file destroyed by 'restore'. VC.6, VAX installed month or two ago. No more details because he shot himself... It was a joke... I mean, he is alive... |
