Hi, I run into a weird problem using visual assistant with UE4.

If I enable multi-threading. It will make system-wise IO < 1MB. It means the system disk, wi-fi all have a very low actual bandwidth. I can hardly open Chrome, task manager, any operation that needs to access the ssd got hanged up. By disabling the plugin will not solve the problem. Have to restart the computer to use other applications again.

All drivers are latest. I used the latest version of VAX. Below is the system info displayed in the plugin:

License: trial
VA_X.dll file version 10.9.2366.0 built 2020.02.20
DevEnv.exe version 16.6.30128.74 Professional
msenv.dll version 16.0.30128.74
Comctl32.dll version 6.10.19041.1

Firstly apologies for this problem. I have never heard of anything like this before, so I am not sure what is happening here.

Do you have any other extensions installed in your IDE?

What anti-virus are you using?

I am wondering if somehow some form of interaction with another tool / program is a factor here, since simply enabling multi-threading on its own should never have an effect like this.

Did you download Unreal Engine source code and compile it yourself, from github, or did you use the Epic Launcher to download Unreal Engine directly?

Are you working with Unreal Engine at the moment? I ask because if you have Unreal Engine support enabled, and you are working in an Unreal Engine solution, VA should be picking up your Unreal Engine directories, and they are not listed here, which is not what I expect.

Thanks for the suggestion! The problem is resolved by disabling the anti-malware program I installed, Malwarebytes.

Thank you for the update, I am glad you have found a solution for this. It is probably worth checking to see if an update, or virus definition update is available for Malwarebytes. I have occasionally seen interaction problems with Anti-virus, but rarely this dramatic.

It might be possible to exclude the IDE (devenv.exe) from Malwarebytes scanning, otherwise leaving it running, which could help as well.
