I cannot click on a hashtag to get to the next hashtag, is that a bug or by design?

It's by design.

You can use alt-g (GoTo) to navigate between VA Hashtags. I also suggest checking out the "Mouse" tab of our options dialog. You could bind GoTo to a mouse command, such as ctrl+left-click.
