Whenever I go to Tools|Options and close the window, VAX behaves as desired -- for several minutes.

We assume enhanced syntax coloring stops working. Does all of it stop working, ie you are left with default IDE coloring?

What IDE, language and programming language?

What font and size do you use for text?

Double-click on a symbol no longer disables coloring in build 1230.

The coloring still fails for me when I double-click or highlight a function in any way except clicking in the column on the extream left where the whole line is highlighted.
It does not fail if the function is in italics. It does not fail on anything except functions, at least as far as I can tell.
I run with a black background.
It doesn't always fail immediately, but it will fail soon after highlighting a non-italicized function.

I just noticed something that is reproducable in 1230 but may have always been there.
If you highlight a function name in a comment it still messes up the coloring.

I have been playing around with build 1230 (Visual Assist X) and VC6 with the syntax coloring problems reported. Here's my observations:

1) If I use the default color scheme for VC6, everything is fine.
2) It doesn't matter what font/size I select.
3) As soon as I change to a non-default background color, double-clicking on a function causes the syntax highlighting to show all text as WHITE in my source files.
4) only way to fix the syntax coloring once broken is to:
Tools | Options then cancel. Coloring is back until I double click again on a function.
5) selecting a function for cut/copy paste acts the same as double-clicking.

Anything else you need to know?

If you do not have build 1233, please install it.

Please post or send via email a screenshot of the IDE settings you use to select text color.

Post or send a screenshot of your text when you see, "all text as WHITE."
