Where did these go? I hover over a function in the code and I see no tip showing its declaration comments. This used to work. VAX does know about this symbol, and can jump to its declaration.
I am sending you an avi, Feline...

Hm, I can't test with 2005, don't have it here with me. Feel free to send a AVI to support/feline. |

i have the movie. testing the same code on VS2003 and VS2005 produces the following:
VS2003 shows me:
notice the single pixel space all around the edge of this tooltip. this means that the tooltip is coming from VA.
VS2005 shows me:
here there is no such space. this tooltip is from the IDE.
so the actual problem is that VS2005 is more prone to showing tooltips than VS2003 was. unfortunately we have not been able to stop the IDE showing tooltips in more recent IDE's, so VA only shows its tooltips after it has decided that the IDE is not going to show one of its own. |

I've seen this happen when the debugger is active -- are you seeing this while stepping through code or at other times? |

my screen shots came from just editing, nothing was running or being debugged. however entering debug mode does seem to have an effect on tooltips in VS2005.
as always, any facts that will help to clarify the situation will be gratefully received. |

if some method could be found to block all IDE tooltips while still letting VA tooltips through this would help. i have some hope this will be possible with VS2005, but at the moment this is private speculation based on a problem with tooltips i myself am having in VS2005. |

no news on this unfortunately. VA does a lot of work behind the IDE's back, but is not free to just override the IDE. |
