while focus is in the line edit, where you type the filter text, then home and end work as expected, moving the caret about in the line edit.
if you move the focus into the list its self then home and end now work on the list of files or symbols.
the basic recommendation is to try to filter the list more. are you aware that you can use multiple words to filter the lists, allowing you to get a shorter and more accurate list with less typing?
