The default color for text strings in VC8 is brown.
The default color for methods in VA is brown.
Confusing to look at, yes.

I would recommend that the default VA colors do not conflict with the default IDE colors.

for now the simplest advice is to simply change either the function colour in VA options or the IDE string colour in the IDE options.
