I just downloaded 1528 and in general it seems flakier in functionality that the 1524 build, I am getting underlined names that weren't there before (e.g. System::Data::ConnectionState Data and Connection State are underlined)

The create implementation refactoring is not enabled when it should be, I know this does not help much but it seems that the way things functionalties pop up and disappear again less deterministic

I am working with managed C++ at .NET 2003

I have had similar problems with 1525, things seem to be more stable in 1524

Have you tried going to the preference tab in the VA X options and clearing the cache and having VA X rebuilt the symbol database?

I'm using 1528 and its working fine for me, though I'm not in managed C++.

I tried to do that before and there was not change.

Did it again, also deleted suo and ncb files, the highlighting seems to have calmed down a little bit, but I right now I still can't get any refactoring menu items on my function declarations e.g.

System::Collections::Specialized::StringCollection* GetDescriptions();

Find References is also greyed out

i recall seeing a couple of people report loads of problems with 1528, but it seemed that something happened when they installed it, and that a reinstall of VA helped to fix it. you may want to consider that.

using a C# project in VS2003 find references is always available for me, on both functions and variables. how are you looking for find references? the hovering refactoring icon, the VAssistX menu -> refactoring, or the shift-right click menu?
