I had to remove build 1528. Unlike 1526, it doesn't parse my symbols. It only recognizes them when their files have been opened in the editor.

Even then, syntax coloring isn't working most of the time, although scrolling down and back up helps a bit. However, it forgets the symbols after a short time.

Brackets no longer are closed automatically (eg. typing "if (...) {" doesn't add the the matching closing "}".

Auto-text isn't working either. I defined several templates, and for most of them, the shortcut doesn't work.

I found an error message in the "vc8" directory, inside the errors.log file:

PRO::1585 7/6/2006 22:49:06 0xbcc

Anyway, 1526 works fine, so I'll wait until the problems have been fixed.

VA_X.dll file version 10.3.1526.0 built 2006.06.28

Well...

The brackets not being automatically closed is an option. It is possible that that option got reset when you installed 1528.

The other problems don't strike me as having been reported (they could have been, just my memory is getting weaker by the day...). So, if other people are not reporting the problems, they are not likely to be fixed without more information from someone who is experiencing them (you).

Having said that, there seems to be more trouble installing 1528 than most versions. Several people have had things start working just fine after re-installing it. You might try that.

On my machine a simple reinstallation did not help, but a "clean cache and rebuild symbols from the VAX options menu, restart IDE, wait for reparse of symbols" did get 1528 to work correctly. 1526 gave me troubles in C# web projects which have been fixed in 1528 so I am quite happy that I could get 1528 to work.

I thought that the error message "PRO::1585 7/6/2006 22:49:06 0xbcc" in errors.log would help you. Anyway, I just installed the latest 1530 build, and it seems to work fine again.

it is most off you had this problem with 1528, it worked fine for me, for what that is worth. i am glad 1530 is more successful.
