In VS2005, I paste code into the cpp file somewhere, use the Ctrl+Home key to go the the top and add an #include statement. Then I want to go back to where I pasted the code, but I get thrown into some file I was editing long before.

This used to work a long time ago in vc6, but not is really annoying :( :(

I have sent an avi to feline...

try using CTRL MINUS, this seems to work quite reliably in VS2005 for me.
the IDE and VA seem to use different definitions of movement, and where i might want to return to, so sometimes one is what you want, and sometimes the other is what you want.

i have the feeling i have seen a plugin / program that allows you to map extra mouse buttons in the IDE to IDE commands. it might be worth having a web search to see if you can find it.

did you get any driver software with your mouse that allows you to map the extra buttons to specific keyboard shortcuts? you could then match the mouse buttons to the IDE shortcuts. not ideal, since this would presumably be a global mapping, but maybe worth considering.

The Intellimouse software that comes with the MS mice has application specific settings. Used to be that you could download Intellimouse. Don't know if that is still the case or not.
