I added the 'Find References Results' button to my VA bar. Using this button can lead to a crash of the IDE. Easy to reproduce: - Start VS
- Open output window
- Press 'Find References Results' (ok, in this case nothing is shown, but it also happens if I search for references before)
- Press the 'Find in Files 1' tab in the output window
- Boom!
VS6, Win XP, no further add-ins.

can you post a screen show of the window layout you are using? when i press this toolbar button the find results window appears, but it covers all of the tabs, so i have to close the find results window (with Escape) before i am able to see or press any of the tabs.
i have these windows docked to the bottom of VC6, using VA 1531 |

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that: I also have the output window in floating mode. So if the output window is not in docked mode, the tabs are still visible, even when you click the 'Find References Results' button. Maybe you have to restart the IDE after switching to floating mode. I switched back and forth while pressing 'Find References Results' inbetween and then some other strange things happend, e.g., the mouse was caught in the output window. Anyway, finally the IDE crashed again.

using VC6 i have set the output window to floating mode, and i still cannot see the tabs after showing find references results. i have tried restarting the IDE with the output window still floating twice, to make sure that the setting "stuck", but still no tabs visible when find references results comes up.
are you doing anything specific, perhaps resizing the floating window, that might explain why you can see the tabs? |

Besides having the output window to floating mode you also need to disable the docked view. To do so you have to right-click the output window and remove the corresponding check mark in the pop-up menu.
Otherwise I don't do anything else than explained in my first post. I can only add that my Win XP version is English while my VS version is German.
