I reported this to Support recently. It happens when you open an empty file, and it also happens if you delete everything out of an existing file. The bug is still present in 1534, so I hope another release candidate will be created before moving 15xx into release mode.
I am also using VS.NET 2003 SP1, but I think it was an issue on pre-SP1 as well. Is someone else able to verify? Thanks.

using win2k, VS2003 and VA 1534 i cannot reproduce this. it looks like it may be related to SP1.
time to install SP1 on a test machine it seems

I just tried this in SP1. I see the same thing. Thing is, I see the same thing with VA disabled and with VA turned off in Add-in Manager. So, my tendency is to think this is entirely SP1, not VA.

Opposing views?

it seems disabling vax in add-in manager still leaves some bits turned on. disable vax and rename the vax inst directory then the cursor problem is gone.
