I have the same problem. When i open a big Solution, my PC (Pentium 4, Win XP SP2, 2GB Ram, 3GHZ...) is lagging for more than 10minutes. I one Step bevor to uninstall Visual Assist X. Why do the developers not implement a CPU limiter, where the user can set the percentaged rescource, Visual Assist X can use...? |

which IDE are you using?
using VS2005 and a large C++ solution (over 80 projects, over 4,000 source files) the IDE on its own will bring the machine to its knees for 10 minutes or longer quite happily. this is without having Visual Assist installed at all.
normal VA parsing *only* happens when you are not typing, thus bypassing this whole issue. initial parsing after installing a new build is a bit more CPU intensive, but not normally anything like this.
with more information i may be able to say more. |
