Hi,
I have just noticed that even though I have shorthand activated the completion lists do not let me use shorthands.
For example when I use Console.| and then type WL I would think that it will select "WriteLine" for me. This is what it does in VS.NET 2003 at least.
I have already tried clearing caches etc.
Regards

i have just tried this in both VS2003 and VS2005, using a C# project with VA 1535
in both cases WriteLine was highlighted. i typed "wl" in lower case, but that should not matter.
in VA options -> Text Editor -> Listboxes i have everything selected except for "get content from default intellisense", which does not apply in C# how does this compare with your settings?
what items are you left with in the listbox? are you looking at a completion listbox (produced with CTRL-SPACE) or a suggestion listbox (question mark icons)? |

I just remembered somewhere reading about the "Consolas" problem and thought that this could have anything to do with it. I switched to "Courier New" and now it seems to work fine (even with "get content from default intellisense" on).
However, at work I also use Consolas (in VS.NET 2003 though) and didn't experience any issues.
Any news on a "fix" for the Consolas issue or is it just some other sideeffect I'm experiencing?
Regards

i don't think the font is the issue here. i have just changed the font to Consolas in VS2005, and then re-ran this test, and i am getting this:
the known problems with the Consolas font are to do with bold and italic text, and have nothing to do with what is suggested. what OS are you running? some of the font issues only show up under winXP, so i have just re-run this test under winXP and WriteLine is still suggested, correctly, for me.
what exactly is happening on your machine? when you type the dot do you get a listbox? does it have question mark icons or a selection of different icons? does the listbox filter as you type? do you even have this option turned on? |

wl is an example of acronyms - not shorthand. Do you have acronyms enabled? |

True, I mixed up shorthand and acornyms here, however, I have just installed 1535 and using Consolas it now seems to be working (for whatever funny reason). I will keep an eye on this.
Thanks
