If you have comments in an .IDL file, VA will correctly underline misspelled words but if you right click on one of the misspelled words, the IDE will lock up. You must end task and you loose all your work.
Vitals:
VA_X.dll file version 10.3.1535.0 built 2006.09.15 VAOpsWin.dll version 1.3.3.6 VATE.dll version 1.0.5.8 DevEnv.exe version 7.10.3077.0 msenv.dll version 7.10.3077.0 Font: Bitstream Vera Sans Mono 11(Pixels) Comctl32.dll version 5.82.2900.2180 Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Single processor

I just tried it in VS2003 SP1 with VAX 1535, and had no problem. Does this happen with a newly created IDL file?
If yes, is installing SP1 an option for you? |

jpizzi are you actually seeing spelling errors in comments underlined?
i have opened a COM test project in VS2003 with VA 1535, using win2k and i cannot get any spelling errors in comments underlined. this is with VS2003 SP1 and without VS2003 SP1.
spelling errors in strings are being underlined for me, and when i right click with the mouse i get the list of spelling corrections. this is both with and without SP1.
i have also tried the same project in VS2003, no service pack, running under winXP, and i get exactly the same results.
cgough do you have any other plugin's installed? is there anything "odd" about your system that might be relevant? can you get a call stack of the locked IDE and post it? |

I can see some errors underlined in comments in IDL files, but others not. For example, "nithong" is not underlined, but "whatver" is.
In a .h file, nithong is not underlined in a comment, either, but nithing is. However, nithing is not underlined in or out of a comment in the IDL file. |
