Both VS2003 and VS2005 installed on same PC.
I tried VAX 1540 and VAX 1541.

In VS2003, FindReferences-ed symbols are highlighted well.

In VS2005, FindReferences-ed symbols don't get highlighted regardless of VAX settings and "Highlight All" checkbox. When I am turning on "Highlight All" checkbox, the text editor flickers, as if being refreshed, but symbols don't get highlighted.

Is that bug somehow known?

I use VS2005 and highlight references works wonderful for me.

Do you have any weird color settings for windows or you IDE? I use a gray background and it works just fine.

Some time ago highlighting references worked fine for mee too.
But now it just does not highlight.

I tried uninstalling VAX, rebooting and installing again.
It works for VS2003, but not for VS2005.

It finds references well, navigates references, but does not highlight them.

I have uninstalled VAX and VS2005. Then installed VS2005 back and VAX too.
Same situation: highlighting works for VS2003, not for VS2005.

Now I am going to uninstall VS 2005, kill its branches in registry, and reinstall again...

Finally, the whole reinstallation with manual cleaning the registry has helped me to get rid of this problem.
Now the found references get highlighted in both VS2003 and VS2005.

Nope. The problem is still here.

Right after I imported my pre-saved VS2005 settings, highligting of references has broke.

By hacking .vssettings xml files, I found the source of the problem.

When you redefine identifier or keyword color and export VS2005 settings into .vssettings file,
and then import this .vssetiings file back, the found references fail to highlight.

Confirmed. That is most odd. I have managed to totally kill highlighting from Find References, and so far I cannot find any way to make it start working again *sigh* It is at times like this I am glad I test in a virtual machine!
