Hi,
Could you guys offer custom functions in code snippets?
Right now only GenerateSwitchNames(), ClassName(), and SimpleTypeName() are available as code snippet functions.

Are you using VS2005? If so are you talking about the IDE's code snippets? Currently they are totally separate to VA's autotext, and we are not doing anything to the code snippets.

Yes, i am using VS2005.
So, you're not doing anything with the Code Snippets. Why not? Seems like a great opportunity to enhance VA X.

We've had Autotext (and a separate feature called Code Templates,) since VC++ 5.0. When Code Snippets arrived, we initially considered merging or upgrading features. That turned out to be a significant undertaking from many perspectives, so we made the related features run side-by-side. (Remember, we still support older IDEs, not just VS2005.)
We'll consider upgrading snippets in the future. |
