Hello,
I am currently running the latest build of VAX (1543).
I have noticed that in a C++ project (MFC) when I try to
type m and hit shift the automatic underscore functionality that
was working in prior versions of VAX does not seem to work. I have
this option checked off in VAX options and am not sure what is causing the issue.

The following are some software related data that may assist you in
determining what is causing the error:
OS : Windows Vista Ultimate (RTM)
Visual Studio Version Being Used : 2005 (SP1 Final Applied)

Any ideas?

I have tried this on 4 different systems here, with various combinations, and so far no problems with this at all.

You say this option is turned OFF in VA's options. I assume this is a typo, but if it really is turned off that will be why it is not working

Can you try turning this option off and on again, to see if that helps?
Is the setting in the options screen preserved when you restart the IDE?

Hello again,
I found out what the problem was on my side. I believe it stems from me running Visual Studio 2005 SP1 not with admin
mode privelages. I believe this is what has caused a few of my Visual Studio issues. Now if only Microsoft could get programs set to run in Administrator mode in Vista to not show that annoying prompt each and every time you load a program that has been preauthorized to run with admin privelages :-)

I have basically ignored Vista so far, but on my Vista test machine I placed a shortcut to VS2005 on the desktop and in the shortcuts properties I set it to run as Administrator. This seemed to stop the "are you sure" confirmation dialog. Have you tried this yet?

A further thought on this, where did you install VA if you are trying to run the IDE without Admin privileges? See this FAQ
