If there is still a selection of code after pressing ctrl+z to undo an action, pressing the * key to comment the select code results in replacing the selected code with an actual * character.

How to reproduce:

- Select a piece of code and press the * key (assumed that this option is turned on in the options of VAX)
- Press ctrl+z to undo this action (selection is now still on that same piece of code)
- Press the * key again to redo your action, this will replace the code with a * character.

Doing the same thing with the '/' key works fine and does not show the same problem.
