I'd like to request a feature regarding the find references result window.
About all of VC++'s own output- and find results windows automatically scroll down to the newly added line if the cursor is placed at the end of the contents. As soon as you click elsewhere in the output window, it doesn't automatically scroll anymore so you can read what was displayed before the output/search has finished.
I'd like the references window to do something similar. Frequently, when finding all the references of a symbol in a solution (which can yield a whole lot of results), I'd like to continue working while the search continues. However, I can't take a look at the thus far generated output as new results are added to the window and are shown. So I have to wait for the search to finish before I can do anything useful with the results. I find this pretty annoying as the search can take up quite some time in large solutions  |
