That's very unhelpful.
Which IDE are you using? Is this a new file you have just created? If so how did you create the file? Did you make a new text file and rename it to be a .c file? Did you tell the IDE to create a new .c file? |

I am using visual studio 6.0 with sp2. I I have created a new file, (using menu File->New in the files tab, I have selected c++ source file and type filename in the filename text box with .c extn) and start typing void main. It is not displaying any text. If I highlight and remove the highlight, it is displaying the typed text properly. or If i delete the first line and retype again it is displaying properly.

So far I cannot reproduce this problem.
Are you using VA 1561, or some over version? Do you have any other IDE plugin's installed? Are you using a localised IDE or OS? |

If you have any other addin's installed they should be listed in:
VC6 tools menu -> Customize -> Add-ins and Macro Files tab
I am wondering if you have something else installed that is conflicting with VA, and thus causing this problem.
Can you please go to:
VA Options -> About -> Copy Info
and paste the details (from the clipboard) into this thread. This will give us the basic information about your setup. |

sip,
You mentioned you're using Visual C++ 6.0 SP2. There were some serious bugs & workarounds that Microsoft addressed in SP3 (anyone remember when installing a VC6 SP2 app on a machine broke HyperTerminal?) In fact, for a long time SP3 was considered the "golden" build of VC6. I'd recommend you upgrade at least to SP3 and hopefully SP6. There may even be object model/automation issues present that affect the ability of VA X to integrate with VC6 SP2 (this is a guess on my part.) |
