Now that VS 2008 has shipped
http://www.microsoft.com/vstudio
I've tried it against the latest beta of VA available (1614).
Create an simple MFCApp using the wizard. Upon completion, you will notice that VA will be stuck at parsing the solution. The "open file in solution" will constantly display (parsing...) and the Syntax highlighting will not work properly.
Interesting fact is that if you create a sole managed solution (no native code at all in your projects), VA works just fine.
Another interesting fact is that when you debug and step through the code, you'll notice that VA may start parsing the solution. This will bring syntax highlighting. However, the "open file in solution" will still shows up an empty workspace.
Hope this issue gets resolved soon. I can't wait to have my VA working again :) |

That page announces "Beta 2 is here" when I load it.
Did you try beta 2? Or have you only tried VA with this RTM version? |

I just love the wording on this page:
Now Available on MSDN Subscriptions - Visual Studio 2008 Coming Soon to MSDN Subscriptions G?? Visual Studio 2008
Is it available or coming?
I can feel a rather large download coming on. |

Editor model is not mentioned here, but there is an editor model: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa290342(VS.71).aspx
Interesting, but the Automation and Extensibility section of the feature matrix has not changed singe 2005. It may means that VAX is not supported.. :( |

I would expect that VA is not supported. This used to be one of the "key" differences between the Express and Full versions of the IDE. |

I can confirm this, I installed the latest express edition and re-installed VAX to be sure but it does not appear. |
