I was setting up the fonts through Tools->Options->Fonts and Colors in VS2005. What I did wasn't ok, so I clicked onto "Use defaults"... after that, the VA syntax highlight did not work anymore.
In fact, I disabled and re-enabled it several times through the VA options, restarted VS but it didn't help.
What I remarked though is that the syntax highlight *does* show up in the definitions box and any other window where source code is displayed. The only window which does not display the syntax highlight is the text editor.
Has anyone encountered this problem and how can this be fixed?
Here's my info:
VA_X.dll file version 10.4.1640.0 built 2008.05.22 Licensed to: VA X: ...................................... Support ends 2008.09.30 DevEnv.exe version 8.0.50727.867 msenv.dll version 8.0.50727.867 Font: Consolas 11(Pixels) Comctl32.dll version 6.10.6001.18000 Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6001 Service Pack 1 2 processors
(note: I dotted out my email and the license stuff. I left in the support ends part ;) )
You could probably have fixed this by pressing the "Use defaults" button in the IDE options a second time.
This sounds like a problem we very occasionally see after installing VA, and the use defaults button in the IDE fixes it when this happens. Unfortunately we have yet to get to the bottom of the problem.
