I just installed VS2008 and after plugging in VAX I have the IDE's Scope/Function bar and VAX's Context/Definition bar. I'd like to disable the IDE's bar, but I'm too stupid to find that option. I think I already asked this question here in the forum once ago I installed VS2003, but I'm even unable to find this post again.
Can anybody help me? Thanks a lot!

You probably want the option:
IDE tools menu -> Options -> Text Editor -> C/C++ -> Navigation bar
although you may need to look in a different language node, depending on the language you are programming in. |

Ah, ok, I already tried this option, but it had no effect for me. Now I figured out I have to restart the IDE after changing the option. Thank you, feline.

That option takes effect immediately for me, using C++ in VS2008.
Most odd, but I am glad this is now working for you. |

I just had two single header files open, neither a project nor a solution. Maybe this makes a difference. I don't know.
