I can repro this every time: if I name a variable "psettings", and then later start typing "ps" to spell it, I get a listbox with 2 suggestions. The first is PSET_PARTITION_INFORMATION which I have no clue what that is (trying to find the declaration of it doesn't work and it doesn't appear in any of the files in my entire solution) and the second is "psettings". The annoying thing is that if I'm working quickly my usual instinct is to hit return to accept the suggestion but that winds up being incorrect. I've attached a screenshot of the error.

| Ahhh, apparently if I turn off the allow acronyms/shorthand option, this goes away. Problem solved! |

There is a second point here, the screen shot shows a suggestion listbox. These are simply VA's best guess at what you are typing. They are very good, but if you automatically accept the first suggestion without reading it then you will get the wrong thing some of the time.

| Is there a way to make VA prioritize suggestions that appear within your projects over like system library stuff? I guess a "proximity" sorting kind of thing where it orders suggestions based on whether it appears in the file, project, solution, system? That'd obviously make it not alphabetically sorted but I think in my case it'd work out better. Course, I could actually wind up hating it but I'm curious if you guys thought about something like this before. Thanks! |

Turning on:
VA Options -> Advanced -> Suggestions -> Include bits of code from surrounding lines
should help. We are making changes internally to try and make suggestions more "intelligent" and more helpful. We are also considering giving direct priority to local symbols:
