1722, C#, VS2005
Other addins installed - MZ-Tools 6 // Sql Prompt 3.8
This has been seen in many previous builds, not specific to 1722.
Other addins loaded don't seem to matter.

This is sporadic.
When it happens it is sometimes repeatable once, sometimes not.

When doing a 'Find References' occasionally the item being searched for will appear as white on white in the results window. Clicking on a line item makes the text appear since the coloring for the entire line changes. When this problem happens, the coloring is correct while the find references window is actively adding items found, but as soon as the search is complete the white on white problem appears (it appears to repaint on completion).
Again, this is sporadic and not often repeatable.
Changing colors for find references seems to have no impact on the problem.

Showing problem:

Same find, after clicking the 'Refresh' button:

Note that sometimes only the search item itself is white on white, sometimes the entire remainder of the displayed line is white on white.

That is very strange. Does this only effect the Find References Results window, or do you see the same problem in the source code as well?

Next time this happens can you please try cloning the Find References Results window, and see if you get the same problem in the cloned result window.

Also when this happens if you unpin the Find References Results window so it hides, and then re-show it, does this make any difference? What about getting one of the other IDE docked windows to show over this window and then allowing it to hide again? I am wondering if some form of redraw / refresh will help.

It only affects the Find References window, the edit window is fine.
The next time it happens I'll try your recommendations and report back.

Thanks,
Mark.

Note on the redraw/refresh...
I'll try your recommendation, but note that in the initial picture showing the problem I have clicked on a line, and that line displays (reversed colors). If I click on another line, that line displays in reversed colors but the previously clicked line goes back to white on white.

Thanks,
Mark.

Are you running the IDE as an administrator user or a normal user?

At a wild guess it almost sounds like VA is having problems reading / remembering the Find References highlight colours. But that does not make much sense.

I am administrator.

When this happens, the colors are correct as the Find References contents are building and it is actively searching. As soon as the search completes, the problem appears.
